Stefan Franke

BSc JCU, Cert III Carpentry and Joinery

Stefan brings a unique and holistic approach to building, stemming from a varied background in construction, cabinet making, architectural model making and studies in ecology. Stefan and Nick met at university in the 1980s. Together they worked as carpenters for a Brisbane architectural builder, before Stefan travelled overseas. After returning to Brisbane to raise his young family, Stefan joined Petro Builders full time in 2010.

During his career Stefan has overseen a number of complex and challenging architectural projects for Petro Builders. These include the Westlake and Teneriffe residences and perhaps most notably the renovation and restoration of the Simla building in New Farm. Stefan’s attention to detail, dedication, and genuine interest have been fundamental to the success of each project. Stefan’s ability to maintain excellent relationships with clients and architects beyond the scope of the project is testament to his workmanship and character.

Stefan lives with his partner and young family in inner Brisbane.  He is an avid cyclist and home renovator.
